On 25th anniversary of the Electronics journal, I invited our founder and honorary Editor-in-Chief, prof. Branko Dokic, to share with our readership the major milestones and people who actively participated in the journey called the Electronics journal. After some discussion, we agreed to jointly&nbsp; write aspecial letter devoted to 25 years of the journal that we entitled \u201dTwenty Five Years of the Electronics journal: the Past, the Present, and the Future\u201c. <\/h5>\n<h5>In addition, this number contains papers that report original research results in the field of industrial electronics, antenna design, wireless sensor networks, and power electronics. <\/h5>\n<h5>The first paper, entitled \u2018Development and Validation of a Less Expensive and Portable PLC Module for Students Training in Industrial Automation,\u201d authored by J. F. Palomino Masco, explores development of an open-source based costeffective and portable PLC module aimed for student training in industrial automation. The author describe two prototypes and compare them with commercial PLCs in terms of performance, reliability, and price.<\/h5>\n<h5>The second study, entitled \u201cA Modified-square Slot Antenna with Circular Polarization Characteristics for Military Band&nbsp;Applications,\u201d by M. Sahal, D. Yadav, D. Bhatnagar, and\nM. Tiwari, presents a design and performance analysis of a\ncircularly polarized (CP) antenna designed using characteristic\nmodal analysis (CMA) for military band application.<\/h5>\n<h5>In the third paper, \u201cEmpirical Evaluation of ECC Batch Verification Algorithms of Digital Signature in Wireless Sensor\nNetwork,\u201d by P. Kumar, S. K. Sharma, and K. U. Kadam,\nthe authors provided a study which aims at examining and\nanalyzing the different types of batch verification algorithms\nbased on Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) that are used for\nauthentication in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs).<\/h5>\n<h5>Finally, the paper \u201cAnalysis and Experimental Validation\nof Selective Harmonic Elimination in Single-Phase Five-Level\nInverter using Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm,\u201d authored by A. E. Toubal Maamar, presents the analysis and\nexperimental validation of selective harmonic elimination in\nsingle-phase multi-level inverter using particle swarm optimization algorithm. The algorithm was implemented and demonstrated on a low-cost DSP\u2013Delfino-C2000-TMS320F28379D\nplatform. The theoretical analysis was verified by simulations\nin MATLAB\/Simulink environment, and additionally proved\nby experimental results on a prototype.\n<\/h5>\n<h5>I thank the authors for their contribution to this issue of\nthe journal and to all the reviewers who participated in the\neditorial process by providing valuable comments in timely\nmanner to the editors and authors.
