Touhidul Islam<\/h5>\n<h5><b>Abstract<\/b><\/h5>\n<h5>In the present study, a newly designed polyester&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">substrate-based textile microstrip patch antenna operating in the&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">3.5 GHz band is proposed for smart clothing in broadband wireless&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">applications. The motivation behind this work stems from the&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">lack of comprehensive studies that address all critical aspects\u2014including&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">off-body performance, fabrication, testing, on-body evaluation,&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">bending analysis, and SAR assessment\u2014while specifically&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">focusing on polyester textile antenna designs for the 3.5 GHz&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">band in next-generation wearable systems. The antenna of small&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">dimension 30\u00d720\u00d70.8 mm\u00b3 is designed and simulated in CST, followed&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">by prototype fabrication and subsequent measurements&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">to validate the simulation results. Slotting and partial grounding&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">techniques are employed in the design for improving the radiation&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">performance of the antenna. The effectiveness of the antenna has&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">been assessed under the off-body and on-body conditions. Bending&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">analysis under various bending conditions is performed to assess<\/span><\/h5><h5>the antenna\u2019s flexibility and suitability for wearable applications.&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Experimental results obtained from the fabricated antenna in&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">free space and on-body scenarios show agreement with simulation&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">data. Moreover, the specific absorption rate (SAR) analysis&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">confirming that the antenna complies with IEEE safety standards.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">The proposed antenna achieves a wide bandwidth of 1.17 GHz&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">(operating range of 3.11-4.27 GHz), a higher radiation efficiency&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">of 94.52%, and a moderate peak gain of 2.59 dB. It covers 5G&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">NR (n77, n78), C-Band (Radar\/WiMAX), CBRS, and Extended&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">C-Bands used for wearable broadband applications.
